I know how hard it can be to ask for help, to find someone to talk to that you can really trust. Even more, I understand the courage it takes to allow yourself to be vulnerable, to let your guard down and open up about the things that we struggle with the most, the things that we typically keep to ourselves.
In therapy, the hardest things to talk about are the most important - that's why I practice the way I do - gentle, compassionate, warm, caring and validating - to create a truly safe relationship where you can feel comfortable talking about your feelings, exploring and processing your experiences, and making sense of things. With no fear of judgment, no pressure to be anything other than what you are in this moment.
Together we can slow things down and try to understand what's going on and how to make it better. I will listen to you with a nonjudgmental and respectful appreciation of who you are and what you are going through. And I will be there for you, attentive and engaged, and offer the direction, guidance and input that I have learned through my 30 plus years of experience. You don't have to do it alone.
To help you understand yourself better. To understand your relationships better. To find acceptance and comfort. To make changes or make peace with what is. To generate new ideas, perspectives and solutions. And to feel happier, more confident, more alive and more content.
"Dr. Zwerdling is a warm and caring person who helped me to feel comfortable talking about my feelings. He helped me see the connections between my past and present relationships and supported me while I made important changes. I've been feeling happier and more confident than I have in long time."
"I felt so comfortable and safe with Dr. Zwerdling - his gentle, compassionate and kind manner really put me at ease, and I was able to explore and express my feelings and sort out a number of personal issues that had been bothering me for a long time..."
"By getting to know my story, by asking me insightful questions, and gently not letting me off the hook when I avoided them, Dr. Zwerdling led me through a journey of self-discovery. I learned so much about myself, about my self-worth and where that comes from. Thanks to Dr. Zwerdling, today I have a much better idea of who I am and what I want."
